Bristol-Myers Squibb selects Johnson Controls as outsourcing provider

In an effort to improve operational efficiencies and standardize delivery models, Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE: BMY), the biopharmaceutical leader in the research and production of medicines to treat serious diseases, has selected Johnson Controls as its outsourcing partner to manage multiple facilities throughout North America.

Johnson Controls to assess energy efficiency of county buildings before commission replaces 240 courthouse windows

An Ohio firm is paying the Raleigh County Commission a visit next week to see if it can find ways of making the eight county-owned structures more energy efficient.

If that can be done, it could translate into some more borrowing power for the commission, with special regard to installing new courthouse windows.

Prison renovations to benefit Limestone Correctional Facility most

Prison Commissioner Richard Allen said Thursday the department will ask the joint Legislative Contract Review Committee next Thursday to approve two contracts that will generate about $77 million for the projects over the next two years.

“It’s going to let us fix things that have been broken for years,” said Allen.

The $77 million will be generated through long-term, lease-purchase financing with two energy companies, Milwaukee-based-Johnson Controls and NORESCO of Westborough, Mass. And $21 million will come from a federal stimulus grant.

Johnson Controls helping Victorian government save money, cut emissions

Johnson Controls, the global leader in delivering products, services and solutions that increase energy efficiency in buildings, is retrofitting 83,000 square metres of property owned by the Victorian Department of Treasury & Finance with energy efficient systems and technology.

The extensive retrofit project is the first under the Victorian Government’s Greener Government Buildings program, a new initiative designed to reduce the government’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, cut energy use and costs and save water. By 2018 the program aims to implement Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) or similar projects at sites that account for 90 percent of the state government’s total energy consumption, implementing projects that comply with an eight year payback period. The program was developed by the Department with the support of the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI), a project of the William J. Bradford County, PA approves $3 million energy-saving project

The Bradford County commissioners on Thursday unanimously approved a contract with Johnson Controls Inc. to undertake a $3 million project to make the six main buildings owned by the county more energy efficient.

The project is not being paid for with taxpayer dollars, the commissioners said. Instead, over the next 15 years, the project will more than pay for itself through reduced utility bills and reduced maintenance costs on energy-related equipment, such as air conditioners and water boilers, said Steve Gates, a spokesman for the Bradford County Energy Management Committee.

Energy efficiency investments remain strong despite global recession

MILWAUKEE, June 3 — Despite a global recession, investment levels in energy efficiency have remained strong according to the Energy Efficiency Indicator (EEI) released today by Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI), the global leader in delivering products, services and solutions that increase energy efficiency in buildings.

The survey of more than 2,800 executives and managers responsible for making investments and managing energy in commercial buildings worldwide found that 56 percent of respondents say they have invested the same or more in energy efficiency over the last 12 months.  A regional comparison indicates that respondents have invested the same or more in energy efficiency in China (60 percent), followed by the United States (59 percent), Europe (55 percent) and India (45 percent). » More: Energy efficiency investments remain strong despite global recession

Wilson County, Tennessee schools launch energy savings program to improve efficiencies, reduce emissions

Wilson County Schools, located in Lebanon, Tennessee, is embarking on a comprehensive energy savings program to improve operational efficiencies and reduce the environmental impact of 20 facilities across the county.
